Collection also contains De Rochemont's business and subject files (which contain correspondence, clippings, reports, notes, legal documents, financial documents, and printed materials), De Rochemont's correspondence files (business and personal), scripts for movies produced by De Rochemont (including "March of Time"), and original typed manuscripts for De Rochemont's cookbooks (including "Contemporary French Cooking", "Pets' Cookbook", and "Eating in America"). Photographs (of De Rochemont and his movies), slides (of De Rochemont and his travels), clippings, newspapers, award certificates, miscellaneous periodicals, miscellaneous printed materials, and a few artifacts are in this collection as well.

Richard De Rochemont (1903-1982) was a motion picture director and producer during the twentieth century. Born in Boston, Massachusetts and educated at Harvard University, De Rochemont started his motion picture career as a foreign editor for Fox-Movietone News (1930-1934). Louis de Rochemont was a film producer who created the "March of Time" newsreel series. He was also a pioneer in camera technology and developed projects using the Cinerama technique. De Rochemont began his professional career as a filmmaker for the U.S. Navy in the 1920s. He initiated "March of Time" in 1934. In 1943 de Rochemont began working for Darryl Zanuck at Twentieth Century Fox; and in 1947 he formed his own company, Louis de Rochemont Associates. From the description of Lou...
